Jugglefest 2011

Jugglefest 2011 was a rousing success. Thanks to everyone who made it possible!

The National Prestigious Society of Collegiate Jugglers is proud to announce the dates for the 2011 Saint Louis Jugglefest. The festival will be held on October 21 - 23, with open gym space, workshops, performances, peanut butter and jelly, and whatever other whimsical things we can think of. There will be a show with world-class performers on the night of the 22nd.

The National Prestigious Society of Collegiate Jugglers is proud to announce the lineup of the Saint Louis Jugglefest for 2011:

Patrik Elmnert is a Swedish juggler born in Uppsala, Sweden, 1989. He currently lives in Stockholm, Sweden where he attends the contemporary circus programme at the University of Dance and Circus. Patrik has also completed circus high school and a post graduate course on the relation between juggling and music. His current research includes extended clubrolls, waterballs and acrobatic juggling.

Patriks interest in always showing the audience juggling in a unique way keeps him at a constant search for things that have not yet been explored. He started performing at the age of 10 and has since than played shows for audiences all over the world.

Brittany Walsh competed nationally and internationally in the sport of gymnastics for twelve years. In 2005 she joined Portland, Oregon’s extremely physical theatre troupe, Do Jump!. Brittany performs and tours nationally with Do Jump!, and also teaches children and adults the art of acrobatics, trapeze, and physical theatre as part of Do Jump!’s movement theatre school. In 2006 Brittany began specializing in and performing hand balancing. Her hand balancing solo has been recognized as one of the best and most unique finale acts of the Pacific Northwest!

Growing up together in the suburbs of Boston, The Jeremys, former NPSCJ co-presidents, began juggling together in high school, and have been juggling partners ever since. They have performed all over the country  and do lots of other cool stuff.

Thom Wall is a juggler from the American Midwest. He is the 2010 and 2011 International Jugglers’ Association three ball juggling champion, and is a student in the Professional Track program at the New England Center for Circus Arts. Thom likes blind throws and catches and strawberry sorbet and is very excited to be performing at the 2011 St Louis Juggling Festival!

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Curt Carlyle is a natural redhead, snappy dresser, and an all-around nice guy. He has been touring the country and astounding audiences for more than ten years, receiving enthusiastic praise. Curt now performs at corporate and community events, colleges, comedy clubs, fairs and festivals all year round. An award winning juggler, Curt has received a bronze medal from the International Jugglers’ Association along with countless accolades from regional juggling festivals and competitions. Michael Karas is a professional juggler living and working in New York City.  In addition to performing with “Playing By Air” and “The Flying Karamazov Brothers”, Michael is also committed to creating and performing theatrically-driven solo juggling performances, some of which you’ll see tonight.  Michael has a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Point Park University, and has appeared in over 100 non-juggling plays and musicals.  This lifelong love for the theatre is the foundation for all Michael’s work, juggling or otherwise.  Some of his most recent ideas can be seen on “Spark”, a downloadable DVD Michael released in 2010 on World Juggling Day.  Next month, he will premiere a brand new duo juggling show in New York City called “The Perfect Catch” with renowned juggler Jen Slaw.  This is his second performance in Missouri, the first being in 2006, when he played a juggling Ferdinand in Newtown at St. Charles’ production ofThe Tempest.  He thinks the City Museum is the closest example of Heaven on Earth.  For more information, visit www.michaelkarasonline.com
